Karen has been in the banking and finance industry for 35 years. As a compliance officer, Karen is responsible for keeping up to date and implementing new or changed banking regulations. As retail manager, Karen over sees the CSR and tellers to assure customer satisfaction. Karen is a current member and past president and treasurer of the Lake Crystal Area Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time Karen enjoys baking, reading, traveling and spending time with family.
Tom has over 40 years in financial services, of which the last 19 years he has been with MinnStar Bank, providing policy direction for the loan portfolio of the bank. Tom also personally services a number of ag and commercial loan accounts. When he is not working Tom likes to travel, read and spend time with grandchildren. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University.
Ryan comes to MinnStar Bank with 17 years of lending experience and 15 years of management experience. He is responsible for overseeing the mortgage or construction process from start to finish and assisting in the daily activities of the Mankato office. His years of experience provide a comfort level throughout the mortgage process. Ryan recently finished six years on the Junior Achievement board and continues to volunteer for JA, is a youth basketball and baseball coach and volunteers for United Way. He enjoys golf, basketball and driving his two boys, Logan and Lucas, to their sporting events. Ryan is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College.
Judy has been in community banking for over 40 years in all departments of the bank. As CFO, Judy oversees the daily accounting activities of the bank, cash management, internal control and scheduled regulatory reporting. She provides extensive knowledge to research and answer questions that clients have. In her spare time Judy enjoys traveling, sailing and lake living. She is a graduate of South Central College.
Aaron comes to MinnStar Bank with over 15 years of experience in the financial field. As a Senior Commercial Lender, Aaron manages business portfolios and works to develop new business relationships. He enjoys working with clients to look at the big picture and understand their needs to give them the best products and services for success. Aaron has worked with a number of charitable organizations including United Way, Junior Achievement, MAYBA and Big Brothers. He is currently the executive treasurer for St. Peter Community Child Care Center. Aaron enjoys playing basketball, golf and curling and is a huge Minnesota sports fan. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Ryan has been with MinnStar Bank since 2013 and previously was working as a CPA in public accounting. He is responsible for the analysis of customer financials and the preparation of loan narratives documenting conclusions regarding related credit decisions. When Ryan is not working he enjoys skiing, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato and St. Mary’s University of Winona.
As CEO/President, Mark is responsible for the day-to-day management of the bank. He works with senior leadership to ensure that all aspects of the bank run as efficiently as possible. On top of his CEO role, Mark still manages a large commercial loan portfolio and continues to work on the development of new commercial relationships and banking partnerships, as well as the underwriting, structuring and closing of new requests. Mark enjoys basketball, golf, running, weight training and spending time with his wife and three kids. He is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and has been in the banking field since 1991.
Scott joined MinnStar Bank in 2014 after working in the financial services industry and at Minnesota State University, Mankato. As Lake Crystal Market Manager, Scott advises clients on mortgage, consumer and commercial lending. He stays closely connected with the Small Business Administration to provide expertise on how MinnStar Bank can help small businesses be successful. Scott is also active volunteering for Kiwanis Holiday Lights, Feed Our Community Partners and Jr. Achievement. Scott enjoys running, spending time with family and friends and has a passion for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He is a graduate of Peru State College and Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Joseph has been with MinnStar Bank since 2015 as an Ag loan officer. He works hand in hand with agricultural producers to help them find the right financial solutions for their operations. Joseph is currently serving on the Lake Crystal Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as on the committee for the Purple Ribbon Livestock Auction at the Minnesota State Fair. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys hunting, golfing, curling, as well as exhibiting cattle with his family. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
Betty has been in the banking industry for over 30 years and has experience with the big banks as well as community banks. Betty is responsible for staffing administration, marketing, bank philanthropy and working with retail banking to assure customer satisfaction. She currently is a member of the ICBM HR Council and SMHRA. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, hiking, watching soccer, volunteering and spending time with family. Betty is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Linda has been with MinnStar Bank since 1989 and offers experience and knowledge to clients, providing them with consumer lending knowledge from the application process to the close. She is responsible for originating and servicing consumer loans, quality control for mortgage loans, assists with origination and serving of SBA loan guarantees and implements and maintains business analytic reports. She enjoys camping, Pinterest, walking and spending time with family and friends. Linda also does continuing education through Center for Financial Training.
Kent has over 40 years of experience in farm management and agricultural lending with MinnStar Bank and the U of M Extension Service. He is responsible for all aspects of agricultural lending. Kent writes a weekly ag column titled “Focus on Ag”. He currently serves on the Lake Crystal Welcome Memorial School Board, and is active in a variety of organizations including Independent Bankers of MN, GreenSeam, SCC Center for Agriculture, MN Farm Bureau, MN Famers Union, MN Agri-Growth Council and Farmfest. Kent has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from University of Minnesota.
